Getting back into the Saddle

So, I’m trying once again to improve and figure out better ways to handle the site. One thing I’m trying to do is outright upgrade from Drupal 7 to Drupal 8, integrate Facebooks Accelerated Mobile Pages API (AMP), and generally clean up things so it looks better on mobile and general pages. I’m still using Drupal because I feel it’s the best framework for whats being built here, and I like the level of control over the entire page it provides.

To that end, of course, I could use some folks willing to help out. Some of it is just people who would like to create themes for the page, as I want everyone to be able to choose a theme they like best around here. There’s also creating new content, both as fanfiction, fan art, and fan based articles talking about our favorite things. No matter what I want this to be a community site driven BY its community. Which is why I’m still keeping all the groups. Darkscribes is where I want us to focus our community on creating new worlds and new places to explore while dedicating some time to the things that brought us here in the first place with

Lemontastica is now, and forever shall be fairly closed up because of its NSFW nature. That doesn’t mean there isn’t a place for NSFW content here, or on our social media connections.

Speaking of social media, I’m looking for team members to help me build up the pages on Facebook, keep the Twitter accounts active and posting, link between the page and Tumblr, Google+, and Facebook. Also, if we can find ways to improve our interconnectivity across everything.

I’m also still working on creating new ideas for how all of this works and ensuring it can be shared with people who want to build their own communities through Bookshelf. If you have any interest in the working of this site and want to help share this work with others than you will be able to find a place in the team. I can always use help and such after all.

Potentially we might branch out more, but at the end of the day, this is non-profit for me. Maybe enough to pay off the yearly expenses, like the address registration, the GoDaddy bill for the VPS, and things like that. Frankly, if I dedicated myself to this page it would be a full-time job, and that’s an impressive amount of work to do.

So come join me as we try and build up our community and work towards make things better for us all.
