#GamerGate - Trying to find the truth!

So, I've heard the whole thing for the last year just like everyone else. It's only know that I've taken the time to look into things and try to piece together something that might be the truth. Frankly I'm already finding a lot condemning the detractors of the group as opposed to those pushing for what they believe in.

Don't Like?

#000000" size="3">I've been thinking for a while about many things. It's interesting to note that in the fandoms we have been inundated with some idea that people are free to post what they want but are protected from having to answer or even receive negative commentary about their work. The idea of “IF you Don't Like it, Don't read it.” has infected all parts of life. Frankly it is an idea that needs to be stamped out.

Drupal - The behind the scenes look at the new Darkscribes

From the first FrontPage created and wordHTML riddled pages on DS 1.0, to the last implementation prior to being booted from all support from ol' Tom, DS has always been built up by an individual on the nuts and bolts side. No real input from the community was ever considered most of the time, only the feature interests of myself and the whims of the designer. With the lose of support from our last web monkey I had to start from scratch and figure out a way to handle everything. There are several options out there, but I wasn't too happy with many of them.

Fanbards Stance on the First Amendment!

I think it should be pointed out that in every iteration of this site I have had but one real rule I TRY to adhere to. Freedom of Speech is absolute. I don't ban folk for disagreeing with me, I don't silence anyone who has something to say against me. I argue, I debate, I speak out, but I never ever silence people.

In this day and age I think it's important to reaffirm that truth.

Free Fire Zone

I've been thinking recently of how things have changed over the years on the net. It used to be for all intents and purposes frontier law out there. You either survived or your didn't. People were flamed constantly and there were wars a plenty in several fandoms. It was a time where no one cared about anyone elses feelings and no one in the real world cared what was really going on online beyond what they wanted to see.

Hail to the Queen, Baby!

#000000" face="Calibri" size="3">So I’ve been linked to a lot of “Men’s Right’s” posts condemning Mad Max: Fury Road. I haven’t’ seen the flick yet, frankly I think the only thing I dislike about it so far is the fact that Max (Tom Hardy) is the one doing the voice over in the trailer. I’ll go into that in another article, but it’s an artistic opinion. I wonder though, how many people, both with these alpha males and cheering Charlize Theron on understand how long Sci-Fi/Fantasy has had strong lead or supporting female characters.

The Supreme Court Declares Gay Marriage Legal! Conan O'Brian Officiates Gay Wedding! (x-post from DhampirDreams.com)

This will probably be my only contribution to the discussion/Massive Torrent of noise round yesterday's Supreme Court Decision if only because I find it to be kick ass.

My position on Gay Marriage has always been along the lines of "I'm not Gay... I have bigger problems to deal with in my life." Let's be honest, if you don't find people of the same sex desirable then this doesn't change your life one damn bit, no matter what side you fall on the debate.

Windows 10 Device Briefing

I didn’t get to watch it live when it broadcast this morning, but I did watch the Windows 10 Device briefing. Microsoft Windows 10 is now my primary Operating system on the new rig I just built. Frankly I think Microsoft for the first time since I really started caring about Computers back in the 90’s. There was a bit of a rehash at first with the Xbox Bundles coming out for the holiday, including the Halo 5 Bundle which I will be purchasing later this month.

Working in Word Mobile on the Desktop

So I decided to work on some thoughts. And sometimes the best way to do that is to find a subject and just think on it, write, and go from there. So Today I decided I would see how Word Mobile, the Universal Window Program for Word, worked in it’s full sized version on my Windows 10 Desktop. Since I don’t have anywhere near the cash needed to create a stand alone Continuum Setup, this is the next best thing when it comes to working on a specific program.
